We’ll help you with your paperwork, step by step.

Sworn translations prepared and certified by sworn translators appointed by Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (MAEC).

Before you upload

The General Register Office provides certificates for England and Wales; Scotland and Northern Ireland have separate channels. Identify where the birth was registered and check that you have the version requested by the Spanish authority.

Send a complete image without cropping edges or marginal notes. If you downloaded a family-history image, check whether your application accepts it: it should not be confused with an official certificate.

Answers for your application

Is a genealogy image an official certificate?

Do not assume so. Confirm the required format and copy before translation. A sworn translation certifies the translation; it does not change the nature of the source document.

Can I send a photo for translation?

Yes, a complete, readable photo can be used to assess the translation. It does not replace the original or official copy the receiving authority may require for your application.

How much does it cost and when will it be ready?

€25 per billable page · 2 business days. €35 · 24 business hours. Taxes included. Each page allows up to 400 words; the total is confirmed from the complete document.

Does the translation guarantee my application will be accepted?

A sworn translation certifies the accuracy of the translation. The receiving authority decides on your application, document age, apostille and format requirements. Tell us where you will submit it and we’ll help you prepare your enquiry.
